Go-to-market Strategist
About 1001
1001 builds AI-powered operational intelligence for the world's most complex, data-heavy environments. We turn fragmented data into a live, unified model of operations and use it to drive better decisions and solve high-stakes problems. Our work sits inside government and large enterprises, in environments defined by critical operations and messy, real-world data.
Our engagements start with forward-deployed teams embedded in the customer environment. They work on real data, build quickly, and iterate until the system proves itself, then scale it across the organization.
The company is backed by Lux Capital, General Catalyst, civ, Hanabi, Sanabil, and 9Yards, with angels including Chris Re, Amjad Masad, Karim Atiyeh, Kareem Amin, and Russell Kaplan.
Working at 1001
We take on high-stakes problems in environments where mistakes carry real consequences. That demands an uncompromising bar, real speed, and systems that hold up under live operations. The people who thrive set that bar for themselves and keep raising it. They own outcomes end to end, bring rigor to everything, and lift everyone around them.
About the role
This is a foundational go-to-market hire. You will own the full go-to-market cycle as we open new sectors and geographies, starting with the Gulf. The work is research-driven and technical: you build the market intelligence behind each new sector, map the right targets, and own the materials and tooling that turn that into meetings and pipeline.
A new sector starts as a blank page. You learn how it operates, where 1001 fits, and the angle that will land, then turn that into a prioritized target map and a pitch tailored to the people you want in the room. From there you run the motion end to end: warm paths through our network, meetings tracked in a clean system, and every follow-up driven to a concrete next step.
You will also build the tooling that makes this faster: demo environments that show the product on a sector's real problems, and automations that take the manual work out of research and tracking. You will work closely with the go-to-market team across research, targeting, pitch, demos, and follow-up.
What you'll work on
- Build the intelligence on a new sector: how it works, where we fit, and the angle that will land.
- Maintain a prioritized, growing pool of specific people and companies, each mapped to the warmest path through our network.
- Run pipeline and follow-up in a clean system, driving every thread to a concrete next step.
- Own the deck, narrative, and demo, tailored to the people you want in the room.
- Build demo environments and go-to-market tooling that automate research and tracking.
- Open new sectors and geographies, with meaningful time on the ground and an immediate focus on the Gulf.
Requirements
- Sharp researcher who synthesizes fast and forms a point of view in sectors you knew nothing about a week earlier.
- Technically capable: you build structured systems and tooling such as target lists, automations, and demo environments, and reason about how an AI and data product works.
- Strong relationship and commercial instincts, with real understanding of how warm intros and enterprise and government buying work.
- Highly organized, proactive operator who owns a process end to end.
- Credible in a room with senior stakeholders, able to deliver pitches and demos.
- High agency and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Willing to travel, with immediate focus on the Gulf.
Nice to have
- Experience in go-to-market, business development, or chief-of-staff roles at high-growth or enterprise and government-facing companies.
- Experience in critical infrastructure industries.
- Experience as a founder or working closely with a founding team.
